Who you gonna call? Gumbuster!

Meagan Call, photography by Ted Hissamv
Downtown Cleveland Alliances Gumbuster machine tackles a sticky mess on the streets. This steam-pressure unit actually removes gum from any surface: from sidewalks, walls, or the underside of tables. The machine uses a chemical compound that disintegrates the molecules in the gooey mess. The chewing gum is quickly diluted, and the Gumbuster just washes away whatevers left. "Wherever theres chewing gum, thats where we are," says Operations Manager Ted Hissam. You can find the Gumbuster and Block by Block in Columbus, Cincinnati, Toledo, Dayton and here in Cleveland, plus 24 more locations across the country.
