Voice Mail of the Month

I RECEIVED MY February issue of Cleveland Magazine, and at the top of the cover, it says “Scientific Proof LeBron Will Stay.” I know that’s one article I won’t read because since LeBron put on a Cleveland uniform, every year — several times a year — there’s been speculation that he’s going, he’s staying, he’s going, he’s staying. I, for one, am sick of it. If he goes, the city will be worse off, but I can’t say I blame him. The city of my birth is dying due to a lack of leadership and corruption, and no one seems to have an answer. It’s sad because there’s so much potential here and so many great people. Cleveland Magazine doesn’t do much to court Cleveland, especially with your insane Rating the Suburbs issue. What a waste of time, money and paper.

Editor’s Note: Need a pep talk about forgetting sports and focusing on improving our government? Check out Michael D. Roberts’ column.

Wild, Meet Mild
I’ve never been sexy. However, if memory serves, I was once single — but maybe not as single as those featured in the February issue (“Singles Out”). Reading about these bright young folks was interesting, but to someone who hasn’t dated in more than 52 years, it was as if they live on another planet. Let me know if you ever want to do a story about old, married, forever-plain guys. I won’t hold my breath.

Slice of Advice
I am shocked that you overlooked Mama Rosa Ristorante Italiano in Brecksville (“Hail, Pizza!,” January 2010). It is the best new restaurant this side of downtown. You mentioned Creekside and Eddie’s Pizzeria Cerino but no Mama Rosa. Their pizza is homemade with very interesting toppings. Why not welcome a new great restaurant? We need some good food in this area.

Corrections: In our February 2010 story “King of All Media,” the date of the Dwyane Wade quote on page 87 was mislabeled. It ran in The Miami Herald Nov. 12, 2009. In our February 2010 “Best Bars” article, we misspelled the name of Major Hoopples Riverbed Café and omitted the addresses, phone numbers and Web sites for the Boneyard and Brothers Lounge:

  • Boneyard, 101 East Royalton Road, Broadview Heights, 440-717-9464,
  • Brothers Lounge, 11067 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, 216-226-2767,
