Singles on Valentine’s Day celebrated the evening with Cleveland Magazine’s Crush Party. More than 280 guests mingled with Cleveland Magazine’s Top 20 singles at View Ultra Lounge and Nightclub. Hors d’oeuvres were served by Fat Fish Blue, M Bistro, Porcelli’s, Saucy Bistro, Century and Sweet Mosaic. Six of Cleveland’s most eligible singles were also up for auction with fun date packages such as a champagne sightseeing flight and tickets to a Coldplay concert at The Q. Along with other silent and live auctions, $6,000 was raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast Ohio. Bacardi USA, Stella Artois, Q104 and Cleveland Magazine were sponsors of the event.
Go Red for Women Breakfast and Awareness Extravaganza
The Go Red for Women Breakfast and Awareness Extravaganza turned the downtown Marriott red Feb. 2. More than 500 guests showed up to support research and educational programs aimed at educating women about heart disease. Dance Africa Dance gave guests a high-energy performance, Pen-E-Ventures presented a fiery fashion show and a keynote address by Plain Dealer columnist Connie Schultz motivated women to take control of their health. The event raised more than $300,000 for the American Heart Association. Cleveland Magazine was a sponsor of this event.
Earth Month Cut-A-Thon
Head Quarters Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa in Westlake is doing its part to please Mother Nature with its second annual Earth Month Cut-A-Thon April 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests will receive a haircut and blow dry style for a minimum donation of $25 and can purchase the limited edition “Light the Way” soy and beeswax candle with organic rose and geranium oil for $10. The Cleveland Zoological Society is going wild with its tasting series, “Tails + Cocktails” presented by FirstMerit Bank. The first part of the three-part series, “Sake Sipping,” on April 27 will give guests the chance to drink sake and feast on sushi while learning about Asia’s endangered turtle crisis.
