There's no excuse for not eating fresh produce this time of year. And if you live east, west, south, even downtown, there are plenty of options.

North Union Farmers' Market
Thru Dec. 15 (Shaker Square & Westlake)
The original incarnation sets up at Shaker Square 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays, rain or shine.Vendors sell produce, flowers and plants, meats, poultry, baked goods and prepared foods. Countryside Farmers' Market
June 2 thru Oct. 13 (Peninsula)
July 12 thru Sept. 27 (Akron)
Locally grown produce, heritage and grassfed meats and poultry, cheeses, artisan breads and specialty foods are available at Heritage Farms, 6050 Riverview Road, Peninsula, Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. A second Countryside market opens on Thursdays from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens,714 N. Portage Path, Akron. www.cvcountryside.org
 
Geauga Fresh Farmers' Market
June 2 thru Oct. 6
Goods sold in the South Russell village parking lot at the corner of Chillicothe Road (state Route 306) and Bell Street run the gamut from locally grown fruits and veggies to Geauga County maple syrupand fresh baked goods. Lake Metroparks Farmpark Farmers' Market
June 6 thru Oct. 31
Shoppers will find everything from spring vegetables and strawberries to buffalo meat and baked goods in the Farmpark parking lot, 8800 Chardon Road, Kirtland, Wednesdays from 3 to 6:30 p.m. (excluding July 4). www.lakemetroparks.com

Kamm 's Corners Farmers' Market: 10 a.m. -2 p.m., Sundays June 3 through October; West 168th Street and Lorain Avenue (behind Walgreens)
 
Tremont Farmers' Market: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturdays June 2 through Oct. 27; Starkweather and Professor avenues.
