Shazam!

Children who participate in programs offered by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland performed everything from traditional Puerto Rican and Colombian dances to violin solos for the organization’s 19th annual Shazam! benefit at the InterContinental Hotel and Conference Center.

Three hundred guests enjoyed beef filet paired with roasted chicken breast. The silent auction collected numerous bids for an autographed jersey signed by Heisman Trophy winner, Ohio State quarterback and Glenville High School graduate Troy Smith. Guests also took part in a live auction for items such as a trip to Napa Valley for a private wine tasting and party suites at Cleveland Cavaliers, Browns or Indians games.

The band Special Request played a selection of jazz and classical favorites during dinner. Guest speaker Chris Antonetti, assistant general manager of baseball operations for the Cleveland Indians, paid tribute to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland that, with the support of the Cleveland Indians and Major League Baseball, helped him become a caring, responsible citizen.

The evening raised more than $200,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland.
