Why she's interesting ... A trip to her local watering hole in Chicago landed the singer-songwriter on the 23rd season of MTV's The Real World in Washington, D.C. After her appearance on the show, Lauren followed her heart to Cleveland, where she's found local fame as one-third of WMMS' The Alan Cox Show.
So ... what's it really like when people stop being polite and start getting real? ... "It's a smack in the face, I'll tell you that. I did not have any idea what effect the cameras would have on me, how invasive it really is."
Her hiding spot ... The gym. "I got in really good shape when I was on the show. We don't work out with the microphone on, so it was nice to get the microphone pack off for five minutes! All of my breakdowns happened at the gym shower."
Bar hopping with Erika ... You can find her on East Fourth Street. "I love the street. It reminds me of a little neighborhood street in Chicago."
Rollin' with the homies ... Lauren says she's the voice of reason on The Alan Cox Show. "When it comes to dealing with the guys and standing up for myself, I definitely kick ass and take names."
The real world with Alan and Chad ... "After we come back from a weekend, we don't say anything to each other about the weekend. We save it all for the air in order to keep it really raw."
So whose comedy does she prefer? ... "Chad's gonna kill me for this one. I love sarcasm, and Alan is just totally sarcastic. There are days where I just keep laughing at Alan, and he's not even saying anything funny."
Her New Year's resolution ... Her music: "To be out performing in Cleveland, putting some roots down here." She has two songs on iTunes now.
