Murray Hill was the place to be Sept. 24 for the seventh-annual "Taste of Little Italy" benefit. Seven hundred people attended this year's event, raising $50,000 for the Montessori School at Holy Rosary. Special guest Rocco Scotti sang the national anthem and former Browns coach Sam Rutigliano mingled with the crowd. Cleveland Magazine was a sponsor of the event.
What's in a Name?
Well, an event called "The Great Big Food Show" is coming to Cleveland's I-X Center and the title speaks for itself. The weekend-long show debuts Nov. 12 and features Food Network stars Mario Batali of "Molto Mario," Rachael Ray of "30 Minute Meals" and "$40-a-Day," Alton Brown of "Good Eats" and Marc Summers of "Unwrapped" on four performance stages. Local culinary experts and retailers will also be at the show with interactive events, wine-tasting seminars, product samplings and food demos. Presale tickets are $17 and available by calling tickets.com at 1-800-776-6048. Visit the Cleveland Magazine booth for a free issue.
If you have an appetite for the best cuisine in Cleveland, you'll want to attend the 14th-annual March of Dimes Cleveland Signature Chefs Auction. The Nov. 22 event will showcase more than 20 of the area's best, including Blue Point Grille, Century at the Ritz-Carlton and Fahrenheit. The auction packages include a one-week vacation to Manzanillo, Mexico, for 10. Tickets are $150 a person or $1,500 for a corporate table of 10. Proceeds from the event help support the March of Dimes Northeast Ohio Division. Call (216) 518-1663, ext. 28, for tickets and more information. Cleveland Magazine is a proud sponsor of the event.
