Cedar Valley Settlers Celebration & Music Festival
Ohio’s frontier days will be celebrated at the Frostville Museum and Rocky River Nature Center at the Rocky River Reservation in North Olmsted Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Cedar Valley Settlers Celebration & Music Festival will feature crafts, folk music, food and hands-on activities, including pioneer toys, candlestick dipping, two-man sawing, basketweaving and butter churning. Theater District Discovery Tour
Guests will be “Steppin’ Around” downtown to salute technology-based companies Sept. 15 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The Theater District Discovery Tour will begin in the Idea Center Building, with a stop at Star Plaza, and will finish at the Palace Theatre with a free performance of a Dance Showcase featuring 13 of Northeast Ohio’s top dance ensembles. The event will also feature food, martinis and a scavenger hunt. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will benefit Cleveland Theater District Development Corp. The inaugural Cleveland Wine Festival will kick off at Voinovich Park with more than 150 wines from around the world Sept. 29 from 4 to 10 p.m. and Sept. 30 from 2 to 10 p.m. Guests will learn about the latest wine trends, attend cooking demonstrations and enjoy live musical entertainment. Taste of Tremont
More than 18,000 visitors came out July 30 for the Fourth Annual Taste of Tremont. The event featured foods from favorite Tremont restaurants such as Fahrenheit, Lolita, South Side, Fat Cats and Grumpy’s. Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure
More than 20,000 participants are expected to run or walk in the 13th annual Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure Oct. 14 at Voinovich Park/Northcoast Harbor. Along with the inspiring Survivor Ceremony, participants can choose from a 5K run or walk, a one-mile walk or the Dominion Kids Dash.
