The Living Kitchen

Appliances reach theirfull potential in an intimatehands-on setting
David Searls
Trevarrow, Inc.’s 10,000-square-foot Living Kitchen Showroom is a breathtaking showcase of cutting-edge kitchen design. This brand-new, elegantly appointed space contains six complete kitchens and an additional Living Kitchen multi-product display area to complete the no-pressure presentation of Trevarrow, Inc.’s state-of-the-art built-in and custom product lines.

“We have an amazing facility that’s equal to the luxury brands we represent,” says Matthew Kyser, the Cleveland Branch Manager of Trevarrow, Inc. This 79-year-old family-owned distributor has been firmly rooted in the Cleveland community since 1988. From their first location in Maple Heights, they moved to Valley View before calling Parma home. Matthew Kyser and the entire staff at Trevarrow, Inc. have been educating Northeast Ohioans as to the virtues of top-quality Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances for decades. Trevarrow also represents Scotsman refrigeration, Independent and Elitair ventilation hoods, Franke and Kindred sinks and faucets and Asko dishwashing and laundry products.

There’s no product duplication here. Every room and display setting features a different arrangement of refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, wine storage units, warming drawers and even washers and dryers. The only thing you’ll find in common throughout the showroom is a commitment to the highest quality standards available.

As a wholesale distributor, Trevarrow, Inc. represents and promotes appliances on behalf of local appliance dealers. These dealers  send customers in to take a low-key tour of the Living Kitchen Showroom; the customers make their appliance selections and then return to the appliance dealer to make a purchase. The showroom also exists for the benefit of architects, kitchen designers, builders and interior decorators, who are encouraged to tour the facility alone or with their clients.

Visitors are encouraged to pepper the staff with questions. They’ll leave knowing the benefits of induction cooktops, convection ovens and why Sub-Zero’s separate freezer and refrigerator compressors result in longer shelf life for food.

After acquiring the new location in Parma, Trevarrow, Inc. hired an architect that could handle the challenge of turning the space into a setting that would serve its highly specialized needs. Dominick Trinigali Architects, a renowned firm specializing in upscale residential projects, was the perfect match. Once the building was complete and the placement of the major appliances was determined, the individual kitchen spaces were assigned to some of Cleveland’s top kitchen designers. The goal was that each kitchen setting would be distinctly unique in appearance, yet fit into the overall aesthetics of the facility. Only in an environment this well executed, could Urban Italia co-exist so well with Americana Rustic and French Chateau.

The Living Kitchen Showroom is an appliance education center. Visitors can stroll through the building and explore it with all of their senses. It is possible for a customer to go to a sink and turn on a faucet to reveal a wisp of steam from the instant-hot by Franke. Elsewhere, you can turn on an Asko dishwasher to demonstrate much more conclusively than words ever could, its hushed operation.

In the Living Kitchen Showroom and Culinary Training Auditorium, meals are prepared, served, sampled and cleaned up after. You are even invited to join in: It’s your opportunity to test out the many fine products before buying.

Consider this your open invitation to visit the Living Kitchen Showroom by Trevarrow, Inc., open six days a week. Keep in mind there is much to see at Trevarrow, Inc. and appointments are recommended for one-on-one personal service.
