Healing Hands

My husband was a cancer patient under the care of Dr. Brian Rini (“Best Doctors,” March 2013). Thanks to him, his staff and the Cleveland Clinic, my husband had 12 years of quality life after being diagnosed with metastatic renal cell carcinoma. Thank you Dr. Rini, Laura Wood and the Cleveland Clinic for all you do in the fight against kidney cancer.

Save-On Tobacco & Beverage in Mentor is fantastic (“Craft City,” February, 2013). It just added numerous taps to fill up growlers. Also, the store is family run, and the staff is nice and helpful. This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but it became my favorite beer store on my first visit.

I can’t believe Vegan Sweet Tooth is not on this list! They have the best cupcakes in the country — vegan or not. I give these to my friends at every chance I get, and I don’t even bother to tell people that they’re vegan. Try it out!

Hi, there: with regard to sugars, and the fad of gorging on cupcakes in general, ahem, in the United States at the moment (been going on two years at least, from what I've noticed) I think I whole-heartedly wanna alert readers, and staff, etcetera, that sugars as a whole have come under fire by health professionals (ie, doctors)...You should stay away from Refined-sugary-foods, and keep sticking to the GOOD STUFF: like milled, turbinado sugars, Sugar in the raw, molasses in sweets, and so on. I just thought I'd pass on some healthy advice...:)
