Not so fast, Vanity Fair. We’d like to direct your attention to the headline of your June 2008 article about A Million Little Pieces author James Frey, specifically the words: “his first U.S. interview since Oprah nailed him.” Truth is, the Shaker Heights native has talked to us twice since his scolding. Granted, he didn’t spill to us how his publisher pressured him to classify his book as memoir. But in our November ‘06 issue Frey did lament his early exit from our tournament of notorious Clevelanders. He also told us about his new novel, Bright Shiny Morning, in our December ‘07 issue. How about a quick article search? That’s all we’re saying.
