And Another Thing

It’s been a whirlwind few months for Coleen Skeabeck. The Biggest Loser: Families contestant, who shared her get-fit inspiration with us (“How To ... ,” February 2009), has continued to lose weight since her appearance on the popular NBC reality show (70 pounds so far) and is pursuing a career in the public eye. She’s working as a video blogger for the weight-loss Web site dietsinreview.com and signed with Midwest Model Management. “I really want to be an entertainment reporter — a host of some type,” says the North Royalton resident. “I’ve seen myself doing this since I was 7 years old.” She’s still involved with Biggest Loser, too, recently appearing at a Columbus casting call for next season. “People were running up to me and crying,” she says. “I must have given 2,000 hugs.”

Agora owner Hank LoConti once bought a liquor license for his live music venue just so it could stay open until 2 a.m. on weekends — he didn’t serve liquor until 10 years later. The now-79-year-old club owner has hosted U2, Bruce Springsteen, the Police and a slew of other legendary acts over the years (“Backstage Past,” November 2006). So it’s fitting that Wanda Jackson (April 2) and Little Anthony and the Imperials (April 3) will play the Agora in the days prior to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. LoConti is as excited as anyone. “I saw Little Anthony ... and they did an a capella [song] that was as close to perfect as I’ve ever seen four people do.”
