The west side of Lakewood is a bar-hopper’s dream — a great thing on Friday night, but not always so the next morning. Luckily, the neighborhood has a darn good hangover cure at the West End Tavern. Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., folks converge at the joint’s Make-your-own Bloody Mary Bar. You’ll find a spice rack’s worth of seasonings, a dozen mix options, various vegetable garnishes, even some A1 steak sauce. We combined our vodka — served on the rocks — with the house Bloody Mary mix, sea salt, ground pepper, fresh horseradish, garlic salt, celery salt, a squeeze of lemon and a garnish of skewered summer sausage, jalapeno cheese, cherry tomato and green olive. One sip and the day got a whole lot brighter. 18514 Detroit Ave., Lakewood; (216) 521-7684
