The University Circle neighborhood is packed with cultural and intellectual attractions. The community is home to Cleveland’s world-renowned museums and educational institutions. Fifteen arts and cultural venues call University Circle home, including the Cleveland Museum of Art and Severance Hall, home to the Cleveland Orchestra.
“It’s one of a kind,” says Chris Ronayne, president of University Circle Inc. “It’s Ohio’s leading center of innovation, health care, education, arts and culture. There’s really no other place like it.”

For the past 18 years, Parade the Circle has attracted adults and children for an afternoon of fun and celebration of the arts.
“Every great district needs great public events and Parade the Circle is University Circle’s signature annual event,” says Ronayne. “It’s a tapestry of parade regalia that celebrates each institution’s contribution to the city.” Upwards of 50,000 people attend the event each year — this year on June 9 — which kicks off with a parade at noon and evolves into a myriad of activities, music and food.
Activities are designed for all ages, while bands literally play back-to-back performances. “It’s a smorgasbord of food and activities,” says Ronayne. “It’s a celebration.” —
