Q: I hate buying shorts in the summer. What would you recommend instead of shorts that will keep me cool and still be fashionable at the same time?
A: Although summer can be very hot, it is the perfect time to show versatility in your wardrobe. Personally, I’ve never been a big fan of shorts either, and my favorite thing to wear in the summer is the sundress. This summer, wearing exotic or vintage printed sundresses (knee length or shorter) with gladiator sandals or sky-high heels will keep you in the fashion mix. Another option is to wear circle skirts that fall right above the knee with a fitted short-sleeve T-shirt or embellished tank top. To complete the look, add rainbow-colored flats, gold or silver hoop earrings and a funky pair of sunglasses for day or a pair of platform sandals for a steamy night on the town. Capri pants in cool cotton or linen blends will also help battle the summertime heat.
