More than 300 people attended Cleveland Reads’ fifth annual “Reds, Whites and Brews: A Toast to Literacy” May 20 at Sammy’s in the Flats for an evening of wine and beer tasting. Four themed rooms featured more than 60 types of wine and handcrafted specialty beers from around the world, while guests participated in raffles and silent auctions. Discovering Chimpanzees: The Remarkable World of Jane Goodall
Experience the work of Jane Goodall by way of the Cleveland Museum of National History’s 6,000-square-foot exhibit, which features a replica of the forest of Gombe National Park in Tanzania, now through Sept. 3. Interactive exhibits and programs will give visitors a sense of Goodall’s story and her global influence. This exhibit is free with a museum admission. Flying Jewels of Africa
Visitors to the Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse now through Aug. 31 can witness the colorful Costa Rican butterflies that have been fluttering around since 2003 and 20 rare species of African butterflies and moths that have been added to the glasshouse.
