Summer can’t officially begin in our book until we pull up to a Swensons Drive In, flip on our car lights and ask the sprinting server, who dutifully runs to our window, for the famous Galley Boy ($3.05). The double cheeseburger’s two house-made sauces — barbecue and tartar — create a sweet yet tart flavor you’ve likely never tasted on a burger before. “Sometimes people get thrown off a bit by the idea that there’s tartar sauce on their cheeseburger, but really it all works well together,” says Swensons’ manager Julie Peteya.
