The Ronald McDonald House could not function without its strong volunteer corps. More than 100 volunteers staff the front desk from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., 365 days a year. Additionally, many other volunteers do weekly chores, work in the gardens, assist with special events and cook evening meals for families at the House.
We are always seeking volunteers to staff the House or Family Rooms. Thanks to a large team of devoted volunteers, the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland offers a supportive, caring and clean home away from home for all our families.
We are proud of the commitment our volunteers make and the outstanding service they offer to families in need. Best of all, our volunteers find great satisfaction in the work they do. We are currently seeking volunteers to meet some urgent needs in the House. Our MOST URGENT need is for weekend and evening volunteers. These are rewarding opportunities for any individuals interested in helping families with very sick children.
There are so many ways to help the families and children who stay at the Ronald McDonald House. Here are a few:
Designate a tax-deductible gift To RMH: You may designate your gift to the General Operating Fund to cover daily expenses; the Share-A-Night Fund, which provides funding for families who are unable to pay the nightly fee; the Family Fund, which provides for special family needs; or the Endowment Fund, which will ensure that this valuable service to families may continue for many years to come. You may also designate your gift to a Family Room or the Tools for Today and Tomorrow =program. Sponsor a room at the house: Every night it costs RMH $75 to operate a room; we only charge our families $20. For $5,000 a year, you can help offset this deficit and give a family a comfortable place to stay.
Donate items to our wish list: RMH maintains a Wish List on our Web site of material goods that help the House continue its mission.
Join one of our committees: Become involved with one of our standing committees, Friends Chapters (Westside, Lake County and Portage County), our Young Professionals Group or the Future Leaders (high school students).
Collect pull tabs: Inspire your family, school, church or club to recycle aluminum pull tabs through the Ronald McDonald House. Remember, 100 percent of the funds raised through this fun and easy project go directly to the families and children who stay at the House.
Be a Sponsor: All kinds of creative and fun events or promotions are possible to motivate your family, company or club, and they all benefit the children and families at the Ronald McDonald House. Participate in rmh events: Whether you like golfing, running, fashion shows or happy hours, you are sure to find an event that sparks your interest!
Give a gift in memory or honor of a special person: The Ronald McDonald House will send a card to the person or family in whose name a gift is given.
Establish a legacy: You can include Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, Inc. in your estate plan and provide long-term support for future families that will need the comfort and support of the Ronald McDonald House.
