Back in Business
Following a January fire that destroyed its interior, the owners of Bistro du Beaujolais were preparing for a late October re-opening of the full dining room at the Olmsted Falls bistro when we spoke to them last month. And while the paint may have changed, a similar French bistro menu remains, owner George D’Arras assures.

Crank up the Volume
The airport Marriott has a new restaurant to tout with a Floridian celebrity chef behind it. Renowned chef Dean James Max (2009 James Beard Award nominee from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) worked with the recently renovated hotel to create AMP 150, which opened at the end of September. The restaurant is a product of his love of fresh foods from the farm and Cleveland’s evolving food scene, says general manager Rick Bertram. “Chef Max has been watching the culinary scene unfold in Cleveland over the past several years, and when the opportunity to launch a new restaurant was put in front of him, it was an offer he couldn’t refuse,” Bertram adds. The concept — to play up “America’s Modern Palate” — is nothing new for Max, whose other destination restaurants, Latitude 41 in Columbus and 3030 Ocean in Fort Lauderdale, feature local produce with a gourmet twist. Expect small plates for $3 to $10 and seasonal entrees from $6 to $20.

In the spirit of eating cheaply this issue, we found one more way to save on your next night out. These are just a few spots in town that send updates on the latest dining specials, coupons for subscribers only (Grovewood sends out one a month) and more.

Double the Deals
Seeing double can be a good thing, especially when it comes to dining at a discount. From Nov. 2 to 7 and Nov. 9 to 14, Cleveland Independents will host its annual Restaurant Week — offering two weeks of a promotional three-course prix fixe dinner for $30 (or less at some spots) at more than 50 of its member restaurants, including One Walnut, Bistro 185 and Moxie. Extra Broth
Get out the ladle, and order an extra helping as the Souper Market prepares to open a third location on Carnegie Avenue in Cleveland, just down the street from Hot Sauce Williams. Matthew Moore, the brain behind the broth, says the new location will be a “morph” of the Ohio City and Lakewood spots, featuring a small storefront with standing and seating room. The reason for the move, Moore says, was to provide a new production facility for the existing locations. “[It] gives me complete control over the quality,” Moore says.
