Feel the Heat

It’s summertime, and the grilling is easy — at least it is on the patio at Moxie.

Head out to Beachwood every Friday night through August and catch chef Jonathan Bennett grilling up a special menu. Diners will have a choice of three grilled entrée specials that will change each week at the chef’s whim. But you can expect the basics — chicken, steak, fish and maybe a few ribs, too. Each dish will come with a complementing side.

“The chef likes to be seen, and we wanted to do something so that everyone can come outside and see him cooking,” says general manager Devin Rench.

Weather permitting, Bennett will be manning two large Weber charcoal grills starting at 5:30 p.m. every Friday. Patio diners can enjoy the smell of the grill while taking in the sounds of a soft jazz band.

And if you’re in the mood for a good old-fashioned cook-off, head to Moxie on July 17 for its first Who’s the Boss showdown, which will see Bennett go grill to grill with Moxie owner Brad Friedlander.

Both men will design a dinner menu, and the winner will be determined by which is ordered the most by restaurant patrons during the evening. 3355 Richmond Road, Beachwood, (216) 831-5599,
