Bah, Humbug!

Forget all about the holidays with three Scrooge-approved shows.

For all of you scrooges out there who wouldn't be caught dead at the next showing of A Christmas Carol, here are some plays opening this month that'll make you forget all about the holidays.

Personals Uncut	Dec. 3- 11, Kennedy's Theatre, playhousesquare.org	Delivered in monologues, this comedy about online dating has a colorful cast of characters ranging from the classic weirdo to the honest, everyday person.	"Everyone can relate to the dating scene and the awkwardness of first dates," says writer, director and producer Jennifer Griffin.
The New Century	Dec. 9- Jan. 9, Dobama Theatre, dobama.org	Parents of gay children are pushed out of their comfort zones in this comedy, which is told through a series of monologues and vignettes.	"They're going to laugh their ass off," says director Scott Plate. "It's funny and incredibly moving at the same time."
Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant	Dec. 2- 19, Cleveland Public Theatre, cptonline.org	Think Rocky Horror Picture Show meets dinner theater inside a bizarre restaurant — this campy, rock 'n' roll show includes cabaret, improv comedy and a five-course meal.	"It's going to be quirky and unique," says Raymond Bobgan, executive artistic director. "It's not something you could normally see in Cleveland."
