Le Oui Oui Crepe Cafe // This former Ohio City creperie has found a stripped-down home in University Circle. Although popular with students and the working lunch crowd, the cafe has just three tables. So along with other customers one busy Saturday, we dined in the overflow area, surrounded by the Mexican sounds, sights and smells of Luchita's X-Press. Free of the ooh la la we often associate with French anything, the experience relies on the menu of savory, egg-filled and dessert crepes as well as newly added gratins. But this small selection doesn't disappoint. From the savory section, we happily devoured the spinach, tomato, mozzarella with olive tapenade ($5.95). Although there's nothing surprising about the first three ingredients, the mild combo is elevated by the rich and salty Mediterranean flavor of the tapenade. For dessert, we preferred the deliciously dependable duo of banana and Nutella ($5) over the almond and overly sweet apricot preserves ($4). Owner Denajua, a French import herself, uses preserves, spreads, chocolates and teas from her native country. Don't miss the latter: Mariage Freres teas, which are hard to find in the U.S. Sipping the fruity, sweet Pleine Lune while enjoying our crepes was all we needed to feel transported to a Parisian cafe. Since Luchita's has recently permannently closed, the Oui Oui Cafe' now has plenty of our own private space and seating . French music and new frou frou decor add the ooh la la spirit of the original Ohio City Cafe'
