Hi, I'm Don Whitesel, owner of Arbor Homes, and I'm this year's Parade of Homes “The Dream” Tour 2004 chairman. On behalf of the members and board of directors of the North Coast Building Industry Association, I want to welcome you to the North Coast BIA's annual Parade of Homes. Titled "The Dream" Tour 2004, it will be held May 15, 16, 22 and 23.
"The Dream" will feature 22 new homes and four remodeled homes for the public to tour. Use this publication as your guide while you tour the homes and communities.
One highlight this year is a house built in cooperation with the students in the Building Trades Academy at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School. Students designed the home using the Built Green checklist for sustainable technologies, products and practices. Built Green homes lower pollution by using less energy, providing healthier indoor air, reducing water use and preserving natural resources. In addition to employing building materials made with recycled content, the home will meet the highest levels of energy efficiency set out by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star program. Energy Star homes are 30 percent more efficient than a home meeting the Ohio Model Energy Code.
Today's new homes are more comfortable and convenient than ever before. Today's builders use smart design and the latest amenities to create homes with maximum style and convenience, since the needs of homeowners change over time. Successful builders study changes in consumer lifestyles and incorporate features into their new homes that accommodate those changes.
We invite you to come see the new development in Lorain County and find your dream home.
Sincerely,
Don Whitesel
Chairman, Parade of Homes
