More than 300 guests came out for “In the Name Of,” a benefit for the Tricia Luxenburg Memorial Scholarship at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven. The organization was created for Tricia Luxenburg, who at the age of 32 lost her battle with breast cancer last year. She was a teacher at NobleElementary School in Cleveland Heights.
The night began with a cocktail hour and a silent auction before a dinner of pecan-crusted chicken and fresh vegetables was served. Along with a 50/50 raffle, keys to a treasure chest were sold. The chest contained a flatscreen TV.
After dinner, guests participated in a live auction with prizes such as a $6,000 wristwatch that was donated by Picciones’ in LegacyVillage. Other live auction prizes included trips to Hilton Head, Broadway and Canyon Ranch.
The Cleveland BoyChoir and the local dance band Run Avril Run performed throughout the night.
All proceeds went toward scholarships for two students who are pursuing their teaching degrees.
