An Evening with Bobby McFerrin
Cleveland Institute of Music Women’s Committee
More than 1,600 music lovers came together for An Evening with Bobby McFerrin at Severance Hall.
The night started with a cocktail reception and silent auctions before a dinner of French-cut herb-rubbed chicken laced with spinach and Champagne cream sauce, truffle-roasted potatoes, fresh asparagus and baby stemmed carrots catered by Sammy’s.
After dinner, McFerrin, a 10-time Grammy winner, served as guest conductor of the CIM Orchestra, which played Mozart’s “Symphony No. 7,” Maurice Ravel’s “Le Tombeau be Couperin” and works by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. McFerrin also showed off more of his skills with a variety of a cappella improvisations.
The event raised more than $80,000 for the Cleveland Institute of Music.
