Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens celebrated its 50th anniversary as a museum in style as it hosted over 600 guests for a benefit dinner.  The estate was originally the home of F.A. Seiberling, the founder of Goodyear.  His great frand daughter, Harriet Chapman was present to participate in the festivities.  The evening started with a cocktail reception on the back terrace of the sprawling mansion.  A huge tent was set up on the grounds where dinner was served.  The feat included a refreshing watermelon and mint salad, grilled pork tenderloin with a cream sherry ginger sauce and mushrooms, and guests also had a choice of mahi-mahi and beef tenderloin.  It was topped off with creme brulee accompanied by fresh berries.

 

The remainder of the evening was spent drinking and dancing.  The gala event chair was Jennifer Frantz; her husband, Bill Frantz, is a board member of Stan Hywet hall.  Mary Vaccaro served gala co-chair.  The weather was perfect and the large crowd seemed to have a great time.
