Over 1,000 people packed the House of Bluesfor the first annual "Cleveland Rocks Autism". Six bands played in two different rooms throughout the evening. The performers that played were Stan Miller, The Light of Day, Cats on Holiday, Stone Pony Band, Blues DeVille and Run Avril Run.
Cindy Lindberg, president of Grand River Cellars produced two special blends of wine specifically to benefit the event and it was blended to perfection by winemaker Ed Trebets. Marianne Seaman, whose son Austin has autism, designed the logo and labels for the two wines, Austin's Red and Susanna's White, in honor of Susanna Richards who is also inflicted with autism. Susanna's mother, Bess, painted the pictures that adorn the labels.
A silent auction was held, as well as a 50/50 raffle. Food stations were set up throughout the hall that contained delicious beef brisket sandwiches, spring rolls, wings and much more. THe Richard Osborne, Sr. family was the main sponsor of the evening and over $100,000 was hoped to be raised to help those with autism.
