Celebration of HopeClick to see the full image
The Cleveland chapter of the Alzheimer's Association held a fundraiser at the INtercontinental Hotel, as over 500 enjoyed "a celebration of hope". Harry Johns, national president and CEO of the ALzheimer's Association delivered a riveting keynote address. Lee Jordan, from TV 5, made it back from an assignment in Virginia just in time to serve as the evening's Mistress of Ceremonies. Dr. Robert Friedland and Arlene Ellis were honored during the program.
Dinner was served folowing the presentation. It was served buffet style and had a Mediterranean theme. It included seafood and vegetarian paella, baba ganoush, and a cous cous salad.
A spirited silent auction was held. One of the most unique offerings was a chance to have author Les Roberts name a charater in his next book after the winning bidder. It was noted that the character would be a villain. Another fun item up for bid was atour of the WEWS news studio followed by dinner with anchor Lee Jordan.
Gail Sands and Nancy Hooker were the evening's co-chairs.
