We are the city of rock-n-roll and it was evident on Friday, May 25 at the Guitarmania Summer Tour 2007 Kickoff event. More than 500 guests strolled around the outside of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum checking out more than 75 larger-than-life guitars that have been painted, decorated and glued. From guitars decked out in pink tiles dedicated to the fight against breast cancer to our own Cleveland Magazine North Coaster guitar by Sandra Montville, there were lively colors and scenes to choose from. Marching bands from local high schools played while hot dogs and chips were passed out for those starting their holiday weekend a little early. Jessica Snyder from the United Way expressed her joy over the warm weather. “I almost kissed the TV screen this morning when Hollie Strano gave the forecast,†she said. Guitarmania continues through October 20 when the guitars will be auctioned off to benefit the United Way of Greater Cleveland.
