Life is all about going out on a limb. So when we sat down at Sung's House in the Theater District for a much-deserved post-deadline lunch, we ad-libbed and got the chicken katsu ($8) instead of our usual bibimbap. The panko-breaded chicken cutlet, fried to a delightfully crispy golden brown, is sliced into bite-sized pieces and served alongside white rice and a sidecar filled with katsu sauce, a savory Japanese version of Worcestershire sauce. While that should be enough for lunch, Sung's House believes in bang for your buck — the dish also comes with a cabbage salad with Thousand Island dressing and a cherry on top (customary in Korea and Japan), two California sushi pieces, a pork gyoza dumpling and miso soup.
