Leaf through the branches of your family tree with the help of the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Genealogy Collection. Visitors to the Fairview Park branch can trace their family lineage with the help of nearly 6,000 books, 100 journals and thousands of microforms. Detailed records that are unavailable online, such as port arrivals and ship passenger lists, as well as local newspaper and city directories from as early as the mid-1800s make it easier for history hunters to track down information. Librarians are also on-hand to assist visitors, helping them map out better genealogy searches. “It’s one thing to have access to resources,” says communications director Hallie Rich, “but it’s how you can best dive into that collection. Our professionals are there to help you wade into that abundant source of information.” 21255 Lorain Road, Fairview Park, 440-333-4700, cuyahogalibrary.org
