What is the Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Awards Party?
The 17th Annual Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Awards Party will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011, is a strolling food and wine tasting event and one of Cleveland’s finest social and culinary evenings.

The May issue of Cleveland Magazine presents Northeast Ohio’s “Best Restaurants” with the Silver Spoon Award in a variety of categories. Winning restaurants are invited to participate in the Silver Spoon Award Party by serving their signature dishes to our guests.

Guests will sample delicious signature dishes from 30 of Northeast Ohio’s best restaurants and eight international vintners. All participating restaurants are 2011 Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Award winners. The event also includes an exclusive VIP Lounge (see details below) and fabulous live and silent auctions.

The event is also a benefit for the Arthritis Foundation, Great Lakes Region, Northeastern Ohio chapter. Event proceeds fund critical arthritis research conducted at local institutions in Northeastern Ohio as well as support local programs and service for the nearly one million Northeast Ohioans with arthritis.

What is the VIP Lounge?
A hip and trendy addition to the Silver Spoon Awards Party, the VIP Lounge is located in a private but separate space near the main event with a unique "see and be seen" vibe. The Lounge will feature signature champagne and sparkling wines, live jazz entertainment and cooking demonstrations from a celebrity chef (TBA) –- all of which can only be experienced in this VIP area of the Silver Spoon Awards Party.

What are the hours of the event?
The main sampling event is held from 6 until 9 p.m. The VIP Lounge opens at 6 p.m. but stays open until 10 p.m. Feel free to go between this room and the main event all night long!

When does the live auction bidding take place?
The live auction will take place at approximately 7:30 p.m.

When does the silent auction bidding take place?
Bidding takes place from 6 p.m. until approximately 8:15 p.m.

Is the event handicap accessible?
Yes, the event is fully handicap accessible.

What is the appropriate dress?
Business or business casual attire is suggested. Many people also choose to make a night of it and attend in cocktail attire.

What kind of food will be served?
Guests will sample signature dishes from 30 of Northeast Ohio’s best restaurants and eight international vintners. All participating restaurants are 2011 Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Award Winners. Past participating restaurants have included: Blue Point Grille, The Greenhouse Tavern, Hyde Park Prime Steaks, Lola, Parallax, Sans Souci and many more.

TICKETS

How much are tickets?
Tickets are $85 for general admission and $135 for the VIP Lounge. The day of the event, general admission tickets will be $100 and VIP tickets are $150 – so don’t wait, get your tickets today!

PARKING/HOTEL

Where should I park?
For ticketed event attendees, complimentary parking is included with your ticket purchase. As an attendee you have two options:
1. Complimentary self-parking will be available at the Key Tower garage at corner of St. Clair Avenue and East Mall Drive. HIGHLY SUGGESTED.
2. Complimentary valet parking will also be available at the Marriott hotel entrance at the corner of St. Clair Avenue and West Mall Drive.

Are there discounted hotel rooms if I would like to stay at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center?
Yes. Please mention the "Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Awards Party" when making reservations.



AUCTION/SPONSORSHIP

Is any portion of my ticket or auction item purchase tax deductible? Yes. If you purchased:
Presale tickets: $25 of general admission tickets and $40 of VIP tickets are tax deductible.
Regular priced tickets: $40 of general admission tickets and $70 of VIP tickets are tax deductible
Day of event tickets: $55 of general admission tickets and $90 of VIP tickets are tax deductible
