Time passes slowly and beautifully at Buccia Vineyards in Conneaut. It’s easy to find the perfect bottle among the 17 wines currently offered, from a full-bodied estate-grown Baco noir to the light and fruity Maiden’s Blush, a summer rose enhanced with blackberry.

“We are minimalists in the cellar,” says co-owner Bill Holden. “We don’t manipulate the wines. We emphasize what Mother Nature gives us.”

While about half of the wines are produced from grapes grown on-site, the rest of the juice is sourced from nearby vineyards including Markko, St. Joseph and M Cellars.

The 13-acre property offers four glamorous suites for overnight stays, each with an outdoor sitting area with vineyard views, making it an ideal spot for weddings or bridal showers. But whatever your reason for visiting, select a bottle and head outside where you can opt for a shaded patio or a lounge in the sun just a stone’s throw from lush rows of vines.

“We are passionate about what we do,” says Holden, “but we do it in a very unique, laid-back atmosphere and setting.” 518 Gore Road, Conneaut, 440-593-5976, bucciavineyards.com

Try This: The 2019 off-dry riesling ($19) is an affordable option offering crisp clean notes of apple, apricot and Meyer lemon.
