Why He’s Interesting: Brook Park is buzzing again, and much of that momentum traces to Edward Orcutt. The mayor has guided the city toward fiscal stability, infrastructure improvements and community revitalization — all while preparing it for the development of a new Cleveland Browns football stadium.
City on the Rise: City Hall has been lively, and Orcutt says the energy is unlike anything he’s seen in years. “It’s been a busy but deeply rewarding year. Leading Brook Park right now feels like being at the center of a city that’s truly moving forward.” From rebuilding roads to bringing back the city’s indoor pool after a longtime closure, his administration has prioritized various forms of investment. “There’s a lot of pride here. Seeing that pride grow every day makes the hard work worth it.”
Forward Thinking: The potential Browns stadium project has brought national attention to Brook Park. Orcutt sees it as a chance to showcase the city’s readiness for growth. “It could bring jobs, investment and new life to the area in a way that benefits our residents first. We’re committed to making sure any development enhances Brook Park’s long-term future.”
Life Beyond City Hall: Away from the demands of City Hall, Orcutt is happiest when he’s spending time with the people closest to him, or getting outdoors and out into Brook Park’s community. “I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible, whether that’s taking a walk through one of our parks, catching a local ballgame or enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of coffee at one of our neighborhood spots.” But at the end of the day, nothing means more to him than being home with his family. “My family is truly the heart of my life. We enjoy everything from family dinners to weekends at home or heading to the park when the weather cooperates. No matter how busy things get, we always make time for each other.”
