Why He’s Interesting: Logan Broadbent has been throwing boomerangs since he could walk. At 14, he became the youngest athlete to compete on the U.S. Boomerang Team, later earning three world championship titles and back-to-back runner-up finishes at the World Boomerang Championships. “My dad grew up in Lakewood and was obsessed with boomerangs, so naturally I took after him.” Beyond the field, he’s a global managing director at Iron Mountain, leading international sales and digital transformation initiatives.
Making a Name: What started as a childhood passion evolved into a lifelong pursuit of precision and performance. Through his company, Boomerang Ninja, Broadbent designs high-quality boomerangs for throwers of all ages and skill levels. Fans might recognize the brand name: Known to fans of American Ninja Warrior as the “Boomerang Ninja,” he’s competed on eight seasons of the show, most recently in Las Vegas. “Most people know me from my YouTube collaborations or for boomerang throwing, but American Ninja Warrior is a great way to connect with people who’ve never seen the sport before.”
Fitness Flair: Athleticism is Broadbent’s art form. The four-time team world champion and top individual finisher in obstacle course racing has also conquered marathons in Boston, New York and Berlin. When he’s not training, he plays ultimate frisbee for fun, crediting the sport with sharpening his coordination and boomerang-catching skills.
Community Character: Giving back has always been part of Broadbent’s DNA, shaped by a childhood that taught him resilience, empathy and the value of community. His sister and twin brother both live with cystic fibrosis, inspiring Logan’s deep involvement with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a lifelong commitment to service. He supports organizations like United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Boys and Girls Club and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, and he’s mentored students through organizations like GE Lighting and the MC2 STEM School. “I connect boomerangs to service. What you throw out into the world — your words, your actions, your energy — always comes back. A boomerang doesn’t return because it’s lucky; it comes back because it was built that way, with intention and purpose.”
