Rocky River is a city that is constantly growing. Even during historically turbulent times such as the COVID pandemic, our community was breaking records in terms of community investment. And there’s good reason for that. Rocky River is a resilient city — and one that cares deeply about those who want to call it home. That’s because our people — the business owners, residents and employees who keep the city humming — are our backbone, heart and soul.

In this issue, you’ll get to know our dedicated and highly knowledgeable building department. These individuals work tirelessly to ensure investment in our city, from brand-new buildings to historic renovations and more, are handled with safety, efficiency and integrity.

Speaking of new buildings, construction is underway for Rocky River’s new, state-of-the-art fire station. This facility will prioritize safety and efficiency while providing a more comfortable living space for our dedicated firefighters.

While Rocky River always has an eye toward the future, we’re also proud to honor our rich history — from the city’s antique firetruck pictured on this publication’s cover to the centennial celebrations of College Club West, the Westlake Hotel and Rotary Club.

As always, the City of Rocky River would like to thank the organizations that have made this publication possible. Through their support, we are able to share this resource with our residents and showcase the wonderful people and places that make our city so special.

With kindest regards,

Mayor Pamela Bobst
