Buckeyes, the pods are officially open.
In the opening episodes of Love Is Blind on Wednesday, a crew of Ohio singles had its first appearance on the reality TV show. Contestants from all over the state, including a few from Northeast Ohio, convened in Columbus last year to film much of the latest edition of the Netflix show, as reported by The Columbus Dispatch.
The Love Is Blind process hasn’t changed since the first season: Contestants meet one another in rooms separated by a screen and have conversations without seeing one another. If they form a connection, they take things to the next level with on-the-spot engagements, where they also reveal their appearances to one another. From there, the partners go on vacations and then see how they manage in regular day-to-day life, while deciding if they’re compatible enough for marriage. All the while, plenty of drama is sure to ensue.
Love Is Blind co-host Nick Lachey — a Cincinnati, Ohio, native — got the men’s group chanting “O-H!” “I-O!” as he introduced contestants in the first episode. The women later echoed the chant as they made their way to the pods.
“I do that every season, but it’s never worked,” he quipped.
While former seasons of the show took place in cities such as Atlanta, Chicago and Seattle, the 10th season showcases the entire Buckeye state.
The first six episodes of the season are now streaming on Netflix. Episodes 7-9 drop on Feb. 18, followed by Episodes 10-11 on Feb. 25 and Episode 12 on March 4.
