Adelbert (Chip) Marous
CEO & President, Marous Brothers Construction
Education: High School
How I Approach My Day: I start my mornings with a clear mind and gratitude, energized and ready to go.
What I Look for in a Leader: I look for individuals who lead with passion and energy, aren’t afraid to fail and know how to handle difficult conversations. Above all, I respect leaders who listen, continue learning and believe that work should be done right or not done at all.
Favorite Quote: “Do it right or don’t do it at all.” — Del Marous (my father)
What Would Surprise Someone to Learn About Me: I binge watch TV series; some of my favorites are Peaky Blinders, Suits, Seinfeld, Billions, Reacher and Ozarks.
An Important Lesson I Learned: Listening matters more than speaking. The best decisions are informed by perspectives you don’t have, especially from people closest to the work.
Outside of Work You’ll Find Me: Spending time with my family and enjoying some of my hobbies (woodworking, scuba diving, working outside, getting ice cream, driving my tractor around my property and taking my cars out for a ride)
