Two 18-hole courses means golfers of all skill levels can enjoy a game at Sweetbriar Golf Club. But it’s on the club’s picturesque Legacy course where director of golf operations Kevin Moore finds his favorite hole, which is 382 yards.

“Hole No. 1 typically plays as one of our most difficult holes. It’s a risk-reward hole,” he explains. “You can cut the corner if you want to have a shorter approach shot. It’s a dogleg left par 4 with a lake up the entire left side of the hole. There are two large trees at the dogleg that the long-ball hitters can hit over to have a shorter approach shot. Then there is a large bunker on the right side of the dogleg and then more trees to the right.”
