Good Company will be closing its Battery Park location on October 25th. But a new east-side restaurant will come to life on November 12th, when Buildings and Food hospitality opens Good Company in Little Italy. This newest location, which joins a sister establishment in Akron, will open in the former Wolf Pack Chorus space at 2175 Cornell Road.
“I couldn’t be more excited for Buildings and Food’s first mission across the Cuyahoga River,” says founder and CEO Will Hollingsworth. “I feel like Washington crossing the Delaware, armed only with delicious chicken wings and warm hospitality.”
Fans will find the same roster of chef-driven comfort foods like burgers, sandwiches, salads, milkshakes and house-made desserts. And of course, the award-winning “72-hour” wings will be featured. Those wings receive a multi-day dry marinade before being braised and then, finally, fried to order.
The Wolf Pack Chorus space had, for nearly a decade, been home to Club Isabella. The former carriage house at the intersection of Cornell and Random roads received a top-to-bottom makeover about a decade and a half ago. Those great bones provided Buildings and Food with an amazing canvas on which to build out their new restaurant.
The full-service, dine-in restaurant features a spacious dining room, bar and patio.
“We couldn’t be more honored to be a part of Little Italy, where Cleveland’s longest-standing, best and most cherished restaurants are,” says head chef Tommy Kettel. “At the corner of Cornell and Random, we plan to join that rich restaurant history.”
Good Company Wings in Little Italy will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with brunch specials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
The decision to close the original location in Battery Park was out of their hands, explains Hollingsworth.
“Good Company Wings Battery Park has been part of our company for five years now, and each year has outperformed the last, including this year,” said Hollingsworth. “But our landlords are building a nine-figure set of residential towers that will, unfortunately, require a corridor to run through our existing bathrooms, which renders the space unusable for us.”
But Hollingsworth is also hinting at a future west-side home for Good Company.
“We’re lining up a replacement location just down the street, but we can’t talk about it quite yet. We’re also building a kitchen and a bakehouse to put Good Company Wings onto your favorite delivery apps; more on that soon,” he says.
Good Company in Akron is located at 60 S. Maple St.
