Greedy Girl Makes Us Go Gaga for Greek and Indian Food

You’ll find the best of both worlds here. While Greedy Girl owner Eust Kavour grew up with the flavors and recipes of her Greek heritage, she also fell in love with cooking Indian food later in life. Her Cleveland Heights spot pays tribute to both cuisines with impressive breakfast and lunch menus. Since opening her 900-square-foot space along South Taylor Road in September, Kavour serves hearty all-day breakfast items such as the Parsi pora omelet ($7.95) covered in masala spices, fresh cilantro and an onion paratha and the Belgian baklava waffle ($7.95) baked with walnuts. While we’re a sucker for those early-morning treats, you’ll find us globe-trotting here around noon for Greedy Girl’s plentiful lunch options. You won’t have to navigate far down the menu to find something you love. For us, it’s the pastitsio meatballs ($8.95). A playful spin on the Greek lasagna, Kavour rolls pasta, seasoned ground beef, bechamel sauce and cinnamon, then deep-fries the spheres before topping them with Kefalotyri cheese. A trip here wouldn’t be complete without journeying into one of the many Indian street food options available. Go for the Frankie ($7.95-$9.95), an egg-dipped paratha bread wrap that softly cradles chicken, paneer or curry-marinated tofu.
