MGK Day 2026 Brings Wiz Khalifa to Cleveland for a Two-Day Celebration

MGK Day is returning to Cleveland this August, and Machine Gun Kelly is bringing Wiz Khalifa along for the celebration.

The two artists will headline this year's MGK Day Art + Community Festival on Saturday, Aug. 8, at North Coast Yard, capping off two days of events across the city. 

The performance extends a big summer for MGK and Khalifa, who are hitting the road together on MGK's Lost Americana North American Tour. The longtime friends also recently teamed up for blog era boyz, a nine-track collaborative mixtape inspired by the internet-driven era that helped launch both artists' careers.”

Although Aug. 13 was officially proclaimed MGK Day in Cleveland by Mayor Justin Bibb in 2023, this year's festivities will get an early start the weekend before, taking place Aug. 7 and 8. The annual hometown tradition grew out of  MGK's 2022 stadium concert, when he performed for more than 50,000 fans at what is now Huntington Bank Field.

The celebration begins Friday, Aug. 7, with the Red Bull Best Trick Contest at Crooked River Skatepark. Starting at 5 p.m., skaters will compete in a showcase of technical skill and creativity alongside live music, food trucks, vendors and other activities.

Events move to North Coast Yard on Saturday, where an early-entry tailgate begins at noon. The annual Harley-Davidson City Ride will also return, meeting at South East Harley-Davidson at 2 p.m. before riders depart at 3 p.m. for the festival grounds.

Festival gates open at 3 p.m., with main-stage programming beginning at 6 p.m. Local vendors, artists, food trucks and community organizations will fill out the festival before MGK and Khalifa take the stage for the night's headlining performance. Fireworks are planned for dusk.

The celebration is just one of the ways MGK continues to return to and invest in the city that raised him, from opening 27 Club Coffee in the Flats East Bank to joining the ownership group behind the recent revival of Shooters on the Water across the river.
