Luxe Kitchen & Lounge: This Gordon Square spot services more than humans during its Bow Wow Brunch on Sundays. It offers a special menu for our four-legged friends — think potatoes and fish. "You have an animal because you enjoy their company," says owner Melissa Cole. "With the long hours people work, we wanted to give them a chance to enjoy that company." 6605 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, 216-920-0600, luxecleveland.com

Nighttown: During Sunday brunch, owner Brendan Ring greets dogs with free scrambled eggs and bacon on one of its three patios. "I'm a dog lover myself," he says. "I like to make friends with them." Animal visitors have included dogs, cats, a parrot and a salamander. 12387 Cedar Road, Cleveland Heights, 216-795-0550, nighttowncleveland.com

ThornCreek Winery & Gardens: Come here July 8 for a monthly Yappy Hour and mingle among the gardens and walled terraces with other dog owners and their canine companions. "Visitors become friends with each other, and dog lovers come back for this event," says manager Patrick Cunningham. "It's a really unique setting for them to meet." 155 Treat Road, Aurora, 330-562-9245, thorncreekwinery.com

Tremont Taphouse: Every Tuesday night this neighborhood favorite welcomes dogs onto its patio for Yappy Hour, which benefits local pet organizations. "People want to spend time with their pets," says manager Christian Johnson. "That's not something they can do everywhere." 2572 Scranton Road, Cleveland, 216-298-4451, tremonttaphouse.com

Wine Bar Rocky River: The large secluded patio at this West Side restaurant is a peaceful retreat for dog owners and their pets for Sunday brunch. "It's a great place for people to relax with their dogs," says manager Shaun Hardon. "There's enough room for everyone, and it's very calm." 1313 Linda St., Rocky River, 440-799-4300, rockyriverwinebar.com
