Caring for older adults has significantly changed and continues to do so, according to Ann Conn, McGregor’s CEO since 2020. That requires you to “really be innovative, lean into the strengths you have and work with partners,” she says.

Conn, an Ashtabula County native, became McGregor’s CFO in 2006 and COO in 2017. But the job is more than financial records and projections for her.

“My office is on campus. My door is open, and folks stop in and say hello,” Conn says. “We also have a little cafe that gives me a chance to interact with others.”

Conn acknowledges McGregor’s all-female executive staff for much of the nonprofit’s success, and for the quality of its services. On any given day, McGregor cares for more than 1,000 older adults.
